Editorial Policy

The Monogram Blog publishes education news and practical guides for Nigerian students, applicants and parents. This policy sets the standard for our education coverage.

Sources and verification

We prioritise notices and information from institutions, examination bodies, government agencies and official application portals. We distinguish an official announcement from reporting that has not yet been independently confirmed. Where a claim cannot be verified, we say so.

Dates, fees and admission updates

We identify the academic session and the students an announcement applies to. A school-wide cut-off mark is not presented as a guaranteed departmental admission score. Fees are labelled by programme, level or student category where the source makes those distinctions. We do not turn an old announcement into a new story by changing its date.

Writing and updates

Our articles aim to answer the main question first, explain the relevant steps and link to supporting sources. When information changes, we update the affected details. Material corrections should be explained within the article.

Independence and advertising

Advertising does not determine our editorial conclusions. Paid placements and sponsored articles must be clearly labelled. We do not promise admission, examination success or scholarship selection.

Use of writing tools

Writing and research tools may help with drafts, formatting and organisation. Their output must be checked against sources before publication. A generated answer is not evidence.
